Measure
Measure the height of the wall where you want your awning. You must have at least 7' from your patio or deck to your eves or overhang to fit the 11 foot projection. Only 6'8" is needed for the 8 foot projection. You must allow clearance for doors, lights, and outlets. Either awning can be mounted up to 10' off the deck or ground. Next measure along the side of the building to decide how wide you want your awning. Awnings come in one foot increments from 7' to 21' wide measured center of legs. If you have rails on your deck allow 6" to make sure your awning will fall inside them.
